- Keep the meter under 24 KB. Transient counts the whole base64 token URI, so this is the tighter of the two budgets.
-
- In Transient Labs Studio, create the token and paste the token URI as its metadata. Onchain art guide ↗
- Fully onchain on Manifold means writing the whole base64 token URI into your Creator contract's storage. Gas scales with size, so keep the meter under 24 KB. On Base this is cheap; on Ethereum mainnet a 24 KB token can cost tens of millions of gas, so read the fee estimate before confirming. Over 24 KB still mints, it just costs more.
- If you don't have one yet, deploy an ERC-721 Creator contract in Manifold Studio ↗. You are its owner, so you can mint on it directly.
-
The same self-contained
data:application/json;base64,… the Transient flow uses: name, description, properties and the animated SVG. Nothing is hosted anywhere.
- Open your contract on the block explorer (Etherscan or Basescan) → Contract → Write as Proxy → connect the owner wallet →
mintBase(address to, string uri). Set to to your wallet, paste the token URI as uri, and write.
Already minted the token? Use setTokenURI(tokenId, uri) on the same tab instead.
- The token shows up in Studio and on marketplaces with its metadata and animation served straight from the chain.
